Artist's Chest

Materials; Irish oak, oiled and ebonised.

Mute and ascetic on the outside, this chest forms part of a new body of work in which the act of opening is explored. The polished rich coloured oak is revealed to the user as the interior world is discovered. One’s physical interaction brings the piece to life, as drawers and compartments of various sizes lift out to reveal hand cut joints. Made from wind felled oak with handmade brass fittings and finished with natural oils.
